Write-up: bridging ischaemic stroke; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable physician downloaded from the Agency Regulatory Authority-WEB. The regulatory authority report number is IT-MINISAL02-701388. An 82-year-old female patient received BNT162B2 (COMIRNATY, solution for injection, batch/lot number: EP2166), intramuscular on 05Mar2021 at 11:41 at 0.3 mL, single for SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. The patient''s medical history included thyroidectomy, ischaemic heart disease, and cognitive deterioration; all from an unknown date and unknown if ongoing. Concomitant medications included donepezil, bisoprolol fumarate (CARDICOR), acetylsalicylic acid, and levothyroxine sodium (EUTIROX); all taken for an unspecified indication, start and stop date were not reported. The patient experienced bridging ischaemic stroke on 06Mar2021, reported as the patient arrived at the emergency department on 06Mar2021 in a sleepy state. She was admitted to the emergency medicine ward on 11Mar2021 for coma in acute cerebral ischaemia. Her family reported that the patient had undergone the Pfizer vaccine on 05Mar2021. The patient died on 14Mar2021 due to the bridging ischaemic stroke. It was not reported if an autopsy was performed.
