Write-up: MYOCARDITIS; COMPUTERISED TOMOGRAM; ELECTROCARDIOGRAM; This spontaneous report was received from a health care professional via a Regulatory Authority Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) (VAER reference number 1395661) and concerned a 40 year old male of unknown race and ethnicity. The patient''s height and weight were not reported. The patient had no medical history, no known allergies and no current illness at the time of vaccination. The patient received covid-19 vaccine ad26.cov2.s (suspension for injection, route of admin not reported, batch number: 041A21A, expiry: UNKNOWN) dose was not reported, 1 total administered on 10-MAY-2021 to left arm for prophylactic vaccination. The patient had no concomitant medications. On 11-MAY-2021, the patient experienced myocarditis. He visited emergency room and underwent computerized tomogram (CT scan) and electrocardiogram (EKG); the results came up as myocarditis. The action taken with covid-19 vaccine ad26.cov2.s was not applicable. The patient recovered from the events. The patient had no medical history, no known allergies and no current illness at the time of vaccination. The patient had no concomitant medications. On day 1, the patient experienced myocarditis. He visited emergency room and underwent computerized tomogram (CT scan) and electrocardiogram (EKG); the results came up as myocarditis. The patient recovered. Information is limited in this case, and the occurrence of myocarditis could represent background incidence of such events in the general population. However, a relationship with Janssen Covid-19 vaccine cannot be ruled out and thus the relationship is considered indeterminate.
